The basis of Ayurveda treatment is a process of purification and
rejuvenation. According to Ayurveda the accumulation of "Ama"
or toxic substances in the body, years of poor diet, weak digestion
and incomplete elimination of waste matter, inadequate sleep,
pollution and stress lead to the imbalance of the Tri Dosha and
the build up of toxins, which can lead to ill-health.
Ayurveda treatment is designed to gather the
toxins in specific parts of the body and then expel these substances
from the body. Once the body is purified it is ready to receive
and benefit from the rejuvenation process, which can lead to lasting
good health.
Ayurveda treatment has two aspects to it.
Shamana Chikitsa - treats and manages the diseases that
have already manifested it self. Ayurveda has thousands of medicines
and recipes consisting of herbs and mineral products and biological
products which are used individually or in the form of compounds
to manage and cure diseases. Guests with illnesses for which western
medical science could provide no relief have been amazed at the
positive effects of the Ayurveda treatment.
Shodana Chikitsa- is an internal process of purification
that is used to cure and prevent disease, and more importantly
to promote the healthy state of the body and longevity. The purification
and the subsequence rejuvenation are ideally done in three stages and the total process requires
two to three weeks.
For those of you who are unable to stay two
weeks or more, the doctors at the health centre will draw up a
treatment plan incorporating the most important purification Therapys
- in accordance with the needs of your body and the duration of your stay.
The purification process has three stages
Purva Karma (pre- purification) - getting the body prepared for the main purification
