problems.
Around the world, people search for safer medicines that have no adverse side effects. Ayurveda is not simple a collection of herbal recipes. It is a holistic and scientific system based on a profound philosophy leading to a long and healthy life without illness.
The Barberyn Reef Ayurveda Health Centre has a team of specially
trained staff members, including resident Ayurveda doctors, therapists,
medicine makers and acupuncture specialists.
The Barberyn approach to Ayurveda is a serious and profound one, staying
true to the Ayurvedic principle of restoring the equilibrium in body,
mind and spirit, thereby creating a sense of total health & well-being.
To achieve this balance, we follow a thorough and carefully structured
process:
 Health center co-ordinator |
- Initial consultation and diagnosis: Treatment is given only
with doctor's consultation and diagnosis! We look at a person
in a holistic way - we record not only the obvious symptoms,
but take all aspects of a persons' life into consideration,
such as their personality, their lifestyle, personal circumstances
and state of health. These insights are used to rebalance their
doshas - or energies (vata, pitta, kapha) - to restore optimal
health.
Based on the doctor's assessment an individual treatment plan
is designed for each guest.
- Recommended treatment plan: Once the individually
recommended treatment plan is drawn up, we explain it to our guest.
To ensure success, we ask our guests to participate actively and take
responsibility during the treatment period in order to re-establish
the perfect balance of their doshas. Without personal commitment the
treatments cannot be completely successful.
Aspects of the treatment plan:
A. The physical treatment: Utilising the full range of
Ayurvedic therapies and the medicine prepared at the resort. Your daily
treatment which could be prescribed by the doctor can include a
combination of any of the following:
Purification through oil therapies and heat treatment
including
- Synchronised medicinal body application
- Head & face massages.
- Shirodhara (3 days)
- Herbal & steam baths
- Herbal inhalations
- External application of individualy grounded herbal pastes
- Acupuncture
- Individual dietary plan & observation
- Freshly prepared herbal decoctions
- Herbal elixirs (Herbal juice extracts)
