Barberyn Receives Presidential Award In Tourism For The Third Time In Four Years
On 27 May 2011, Barberyn received the Presidential Award for “The best host hotel – Ayurveda Tourism 2010”, winning the award for the third time since its inception 4 years ago.

Barberyn was the winner of this award on two previous occasions -the Presidential award for Best Niche Operation 2007 and 2009.
The Award recognizes excellence in fostering a greater understanding in Ayurveda, Culture, Yoga, Meditation and Tradition.

The comprehensive criteria for the award included the following: financial performance, quality of product/service, guest reviews, promotion of awareness of culture and history, contribution to development of tourism, commitment to environmental sustainability, contribution to community and upholding of values and culture.
In 2008, the Founder of Barberyn, Mr. Sudana Rodrigo, was awarded the inaugural Presidential Award as “Pioneer of the Ayurveda Tourism Industry.
