Dinner in the dining room
The Dining room reflects the mood of the resort. Sri Lankan tradition
requires that the
host shares the food of the house with the guests. The best of ingredients
go into the preparation of the meals and the service comes with the
quiet efficiency. The management structure of the resort is most evident
in the dining room where the waiters work smoothly without instruction
from overbearing supervisors.

The dining room in the evening light
The large and airy dining room where guests dine at "their table"
each day is full of laughter and chatter during meal times. It is a
place where friendships are quickly formed and single guests have the
choice of joining up with others or maintaining their solitude.

The dining room
The dining room spills out onto the terrance for outdoor dining. A
wide range of food is served at the breakfast and lunch buffet and dinner
is mainly served according to the prescribed requirement of each guest.
The kitchen and dining room works closely and the dietary requirements
of each guest is noted by the kitchen and an individual card with directions
are placed at each table.

The waiters will gently remind you what you should not eat and an
Ayurveda physician is on hand at meal times to advise
which specific vegetable, herbs and spices to select and at meal times
which to avoid according to the prescribed treatment.
Breakfast and lunch are buffets and dinner is a set meal served at the table. Guests are also served with herbal drinks and soups which are specially prescribed by the physicians. The menu is designed taking into account the dietary needs of all guests and while the guests who have a “controlled diet” are asked to avoid certain dishes, the meals are eagerly awaited by all guests and they learn that healthy food can also be tasty food. Fresh Vegetables and fruit are a special treat including the fruit service in at breakfast.

Sri Lankan delicacies such as the well known “hoppers” are served during the Sri Lankan night each week.
Morning and afternoon tea and fruit juice is served at the dining room or poolside.
Sri Lankan traditional music is played several times a week at dinner time.
The Sunshine Restaurant
The a la carte beach restaurant serves
tea, light meals and fruit juices. It is a magical place to enjoy the aroma of
fresh Sri Lankan tea, or enjoy a relaxing drink as the sun goes
down over the far horizon.
