This class will include deep relaxation techniques, warming up exercises, yoga postures and breathing exercises in a systematic approach to Hatha Yoga practice

You will find many insights of the subtle meanings of Hatha Yoga System.

Mani Raman is a dynamic, inspirational yoga master and teachers’ teacher from India. He taught numerous yoga teacher training courses in the past decade, and travelled extensively worldwide for courses and workshops, especially in North America, Europe, Middle East and Asia. In two decades of yoga practice and teaching, Mani has studied many systems of Eastern philosophy, meditation and Ayurveda, which allows him to respond to each student’s individual condition with profound understanding and insight. He is well known for his professional and joyful way of teaching, and his courses are drawing hundreds of students from all over the world. Suresh Kumar

Suresh Kumar is a passionate yoga teacher. He has completed Yoga Siromani and Yoga Acharya Master of Yoga at the Sivananda Yoga Ashram in Neyyar Dam, where he decided to work after completing his yoga studies. He has conducted more than 25 Teacher’s Training Courses at the Ashram. He is also responsible for Kid’s yoga camps of Neyyar Dam Ashram.

Anoja Weerasinghe is one of Sri Lanka’s most respected Yoga teachers. The yoga teacher, Daphne McCartney-Williams, is a certified British Wheel of Yoga Teacher, with 13 years of Hatha teaching experience. Additionally qualified in pranayama and meditation, from the Rinpoche lineage of Tibetan Buddhism, these practices are intended to assist healing.

The programme will include restorative postures using props as in the Iyengar method, and energising, repetitive Kundalini practices to help de-toxify the system. Daphne will guide and help each student individually in asana practices.

There will also be an introduction to Shamatha (Calm Abiding) Meditation and Kum Nye Tibetan Healing exercises which are easily learned, slow in movement, yet revitalizing. All the teachings will be practical, and become a toolkit that can be continued upon your return home.

About Daphne McCartney-Williams,

A published author contributing yoga articles to Om Yoga and Lifestyle Magazine and Spectrum, the British Wheel of Yoga Members Quarterly publication, she enjoys sharing her knowledge to help others along their life’s journey. She has taught yoga in Suffolk England for over 13 years, and as a celebration of arts in the garden, offered an evening yoga class in the Victoria & Albert Museum London, surrounded by images demonstrating the yamas and niyamas, applied to gardening and yoga alike. This was a one off event celebrating the Society of Garden Designers 40th Anniversary as a professional organization. As a garden designer herself, she enjoys creating gardens, and growing organic fruits and vegetables. With a BA in Philosophy studies in Buddhism are a natural fit, and with a masters in History of Art, a love of art influences her travels. Before teaching yoga, she studied with Iyengar teachers in Boston Massachusetts, for 7 years, and Anusara yoga. A traveller, she spent 2 months in India on her honeymoon backpacking, including a week at an ashram on the Ganges, and hiking in the high Himalayas, the seat of yoga. Practical by nature, though spiritual in aspiration, her experience going through cancer treatment, with the support of Tibetan Buddhist practices, and recovery at the Barberyn Resort, gives her first hand experience of how to turn an obstacle into an opportunity, and reverse the way you see it!

This 9 night retreat program combines the ancient technology of Kundalini Yoga according to Yogi Bhajan, with Sri Lanka’s traditional Ayurvedic treatments and diet to optimize your health and bring balance to your body, mind and spirit.

ABOUT KATHRYN McCUSKER,

Kathryn McCusker is the founding director of KMYOGA in Sydney. She discovered Kundalini Yoga and Meditation in Yucatan, Mexico in 2000 and has been teaching worldwide ever since. After living in London for eleven years, where she taught private clients including Bjork and Rachel McAdams andclasses at Triyoga and Alchemy – two of the largest yoga studios there – shereturned to Sydney to open KMYOGA in 2011.

A professional opera singer for over twenty years, her background in music and voice gives her a deep connection to the transformative power of mantra andpranayam. She is a Kundalini Research Institute (KRI) certified Level One andLevel Two teacher and a mentor with the International Kundalini Yoga School, Amrit Nam Sarovar in France.

Kathryn is passionate about sharing these inspiring and uplifting teachings with as many people as possible. Cleanse, Restore and Renew with Kirsty Gallagher
Vinyasa Flow, Yin Yoga and Ayurveda Retreat

This unique wellness retreat will bring together the ancient inseparable sister sciences of Yoga and Ayurveda to leave you feeling cleansed, restored, renewed and most of all deeply connected to yourself. Daily meditation, yoga, Ayurveda treatments, delicious fresh healthy food and plenty of time to simply BE will leave you feeling like brand new on every level.

Our day will begin with meditation before a vinyasa flow class to help awaken your mind, body and soul. You will then have approx. two hours of Ayurveda treatments individually designed to meet your needs followed by time to soak in the effects of your treatments and just relax. After lunch there will be optional daily activities including excursions to local places of interest, talks on the beautiful philosophy of yoga, temple excursions or time to simply be peaceful. A deeply relaxing yin yoga class will bring the day to a close and set you up for a deep restful night’s sleep.

This retreat is the perfect time to step away from the outside world and take your awareness inwards to find true inner peace, healing and wellness. Learn lifestyle skills, dietary tips and yoga practices that will help transform your life on every level, and that you can take away with you to continue long after the retreat ends.

TheHatha yoga teacher, Daphne McCartney-Williams, is a certified British Wheel of Yoga Teacher, with 12 years of teaching experience.Additionally qualified in pranayama and meditation, she studies with Maarten Vermasse, who teaches direct knowledge from the Rinpoche lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. Daphne, as an ovarian cancer survivor, has used these practices to heal and recover. She has visited the Barberyn Resorts on two occasions and thus has a deep understanding of how the practises combine to offer health renewal.

Daily classes will include asana flows, pranayama, and meditation practices from a Tibetan Buddhist approach.Restorative poses using props are based on the Iyengar approach and accommodate every level of practioner. Energising, repetitive Kundalini practiceswill help de-toxify the system.Daphne will guide and help each student in asana practices using props when needed, and introduce a variety of Shamatha (Calm Abiding) meditation practices that are easy to learn and enjoyable. All the teachings will be practical, and once learned, become a toolkit forhealingthat can be continued upon your return home.
