An Immersive Journey into Ayurveda

What if learning Ayurveda was not just something you studied but something you lived? From 5th to 26th September 2026, the Institute of Ayurveda and Alternative Medicine (IAAM) in collaboration with Barberyn Ayurveda Resorts is conducting a Three Week Residential Ayurveda Training Course at Barberyn Reef Ayurveda Resort in Beruwela, Sri Lanka. 200 hours of immersive study and practice over 21 days.
This is not a classroom based course. It is an experience of Ayurveda as a complete system of health. Learning, daily practice, nourishment, movement and rest are woven together so that the teachings settle not only in the mind but in the body.
Barberyn has been conducting this course for many years, bringing together participants from around the world each year. The group is kept small and intimate so that every participant receives personal attention throughout.

Most courses teach about Ayurveda. This one lets you experience it.
Each day follows Ayurvedic Dinacharya, the daily routine, so participants are not just learning the principles but living them in real time. For anyone who has studied Ayurveda online or through previous training, this is the next step. A residential immersion brings a clarity and depth that theory alone does not reach.
The curriculum is designed by a team of BAMS qualified Ayurveda physicians and consultants, pharmacists, Vedic astrologers and yoga teachers.

This Course Also Works as a Refresher
The programme has been updated and works equally well for those joining for the first time and for those returning to build on what they already know. If you have studied Ayurveda online or completed previous training, this residential setting gives you something no online course can offer. You experience Ayurveda as a daily reality, not just a subject of study. Revisiting the principles in this environment brings renewed understanding and the kind of confidence that only comes through practice.

This course is open to physicians and medical doctors, healthcare and wellness practitioners, dieticians and nutrition professionals, physiotherapists and massage therapists, yoga teachers, Ayurveda practitioners looking for a residential refresher and anyone with a genuine interest in Ayurveda and natural healing.

All participants stay at Barberyn Reef Ayurveda Resort for the full 21 nights on a full board basis, inclusive of all meals and daily refreshments.

The next courses after September 2026 are scheduled for April 2027 and September 2027. September 2026 places are filling and the group is intentionally kept small.
